Mina Starsiak is an Indianapolis-based business owner and the HGTV star of the nationally-acclaimed hit renovation show, Good Bones, currently in its fifth season. She and her mother are co-founders of Two Chicks and a Hammer, a home rehabbing company created to revitalize their community, one home at a time.
As a 2007 graduate of Indiana University, Starsiak was uncertain about her post-college plans. So she decided to find a home in need of refurbishing and worked alongside her mother, then an attorney. Twenty-some homes later, HGTV called and asked if they'd consider creating a show together. You may also recognize her as the renovation expert on The Brady Bunch House.
Starsiak recently opened a brick-and-mortar home furnishings company, Two Chicks District Co. She seeks to improve the community, using a portion of sales to help local residents with home upkeep.
Built Together is Starsiak’s first book, a delightful picture book that demonstrates to readers that families, like houses, need strong foundations. “This book comes from my heart – I wanted to show that families can come in all forms and look a little different—just like houses—and that’s great. What matters about houses and families is that they both have a strong foundation of trust, kindness, support, and love.”
